The Estevan Kinette Club is gearing up for a busy fall and winter season with a variety of fundraisers leading into TeleMiracle. Krissy Wallman, the club’s TeleMiracle representative, joined the station to share details of upcoming events and initiatives.
The club’s cash calendar is now on sale for $20 each, marking its seventh year. Starting November 1, participants have the chance to win a variety of cash prizes. Wallman said, “You can contact our page or else one of our Connects” to purchase a calendar.
TeleMiracle itself will be held in Saskatoon from February 28 to March 1. Auditions for SaskTalent are now open and can be submitted in person or online through a YouTube video. Wallman explained, “Audition sign up closes on October 17. In person, it’s going to be held in Regina on November 1 and in Saskatoon on November 2. For more information, you can go to the TeleMiracle Facebook page or their website.”
Wallman also highlighted community-focused challenges and fundraisers. Following last year’s pie in the face challenge, the club hopes to host a jail and bail event. “That was such a fun challenge. We were so grateful to have the community support and we’re hoping this year that we might do a jail and bail to have something different and to raise more funds,” she said. Other initiatives include restaurant and yoga fundraisers, the Sarcan Drop and Go program, a table at a Bruins game, a toonie movie matinee, and the fifth annual auction.
The Estevan Kinette Club’s annual craft show is scheduled for November 15. Wallman said, “We have all our tables filled right now and some on the wait list so it’s sure to be a good event once again.” In addition, the PJ project will once again collect donations to support local families. Wallman noted, “We will have drop-off areas once again or you can message our page as well to make donations.”
With TeleMiracle’s 50th anniversary approaching, Wallman encouraged the community to stay involved. “We’re hoping to do a few different things around the community,” she said, highlighting the wide range of fundraisers and initiatives the club is coordinating.
