Grain Rush, driven by Great Plains Ford, headed all the way to south of Khedive today to the Scott farm, as Randy Scott and his crew were the winners of some delicious KFC, thanks to Nelson Motors!
Scott said he and his crew are plugging away, at a little over half done with taking off the crops of lentils and flax. He said it's been better this year than in the last few years.
"I guess it would be nice for some decent prices, because Lord knows we pay enough on the other end for stuff. They do go up for a year and then they come back down, but them inputs never seem to come back down."
When we spoke with Randy yesterday, he said the fields were getting dry, though he was still hoping the rain would hold off for another week or so. He was planning to enjoy some KFC in the field today, but last night's storm brought almost two cm of rain and even some hail to the Scott farm, so lunch was served in the garage despite of today's sunshine.
Congrats to Randy, and here's hoping the rest of the harvest is just as good as the KFC chicken!
