Happy Little Hooves has wrapped up its summer fundraising efforts with positive results while also preparing for a busy fall season.

Vice president and co-owner Laura Stock said the group’s recent book sale “went quite well” and raised “a little over $500, so we were quite happy with that.”

While their GoFundMe campaign has slowed down, Stock noted that “we got about a third of what we’re trying to raise for it. I’m going to be starting to share it again.” The fundraiser aims to bring in $3,000 to cover feed and veterinary expenses.

Stock explained that the group will not be able to host an open house this year. “Unfortunately, we aren’t going to be able to have an open house this year just because of personal issues and health problems out at the farm,” she said.

Despite the setback, Happy Little Hooves continues to see strong community support. “We have donors who donate regularly every year,” Stock said. “And then we also had a lady who just contacted us and told us that she had hay for us to take if we want it, and we said definitely, we’re more than happy to take the hay.”

Looking ahead, the group is preparing for one of its biggest appearances of the year. “Our next big thing is Agribition, so we’re going to be at Agribition in the educational pavilion and we’re going to be teaching upwards of 10,000 kids all about what we do and how we care for little ones with special needs and such,” Stock explained.

She added that anyone interested in helping can easily find their fundraiser online. “If anyone wants to support the GoFundMe, they can find it on our Facebook page,” said Stock.
