The Two Pharmacy Diaper Derby is back this weekend and is ready to bring plenty of laughs and adorable competition.
The event will feature three divisions: Crawlers (0-12 months), Toddlers (12-24 months), and Movers (2-3 years old). Children will race across a 20-foot mat while parents coax them with phones, toys, and siblings to get them to the finish line.
Registration is free, and all participants will receive a race package filled with goodies, merchandise, and prizes. Winners in each division will take home trophies.
“We try and make it sort of like it's the Calgary Marathon,” says Reid Kimmett with Two Pharmacy. “Each kid’s going to get a race number, a swag bag of nutritional products, vitamins, and other fun things.”
A charitable component was added a few years ago, with $2 from every transaction at Two Pharmacy on race day donated to the Meira Memorial Fund to support women's mental health.
“The spirit of the event is really neat, just seeing people making connections and arranging play dates,” says Kimmett.
“The midwives have told us it feels like a reunion for them, getting to see families a year or two after their babies were born.”
