Today’s delivery out in the field officially wraps up our Grain Rush driven by Great Plains Ford.
Today, we took some delicious KFC out to Gary Kopec and his crew, who weren’t too disappointed in the rain we recently got.
“We got a good solid inch at the farm,” he said. “The grounds always use the rain. It adds good minerals to the soil and it’s good to have. We’re kind of waiting on canola and flax, I’m caught up on combining for a couple of days, so it kind of works out alright.”
He, like many farmers in the area, also noted that this year’s crop was an above average crop.
“I think we might have suffered a bit from a big rain in the spring but they did above average, that’s for sure,” he said. “It’s kind of nice to have it off and done, and it looks like t’s very good quality.”
