Original Report 11:15 am:

A significant power outage has impacted Simmie, Climax, Eastend, Val Marie, and all surrounding areas.

"It does look like it was caused by a trip on a transmission line," said Joel Cherry, spokesperson for SaskPower. "That does tend to affect a larger area because the transmission line feeds into all those communities. Hopefully, we're able to get that on soon, and all the customers will be able to be back on at once."

While it impacts the areas around it, the outage does not include the Town of Shaunavon itself.

Cherry noted it was too early to say definitively what caused the outage or how long it would take crews to restore power.

SaskPower first reported the outage at 11:07 am.
