The Flipside Youth Centre is inviting families to come together for “Let’s Taco ’Bout It”, a free, all-ages event recognizing World Suicide Prevention Day.

The event takes place tomorrow (Thursday, September 18), from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wellness and Community Connections Centre.

Participants can expect interactive games and activities designed to promote awareness, self-care, and community support, followed by a taco bar supper.

Funded through the Alberta Health Services Injury Prevention Grant, the evening aims to create a safe, welcoming space to talk about suicide awareness and prevention in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

Each year, more than 4,500 Canadians die by suicide, leaving countless families, friends, and communities grieving.

“Suicide is preventable. Canada has the evidence, the frameworks, and the community will to act,” said Andrew Perez, interim executive director of the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP).
