The Weyburn Police Service responded to two thefts from local businesses last Monday. The first incident involved a woman stealing medication from a store. Deputy Chief Shane St. John says the woman involved was not a first-time offender, however, no charges were laid.

“It's been happening off and on with this individual for some time. They figured the best option in this situation, knowing the circumstances of it, which I won't get into here, is just to ban that person from the store.”

The second incident was more severe, a man was reported to have stolen ammunition from a local store, involving one of their employees. St. John says they were able to recover the stolen ammunition alongside two stolen firearms.

“The person will be getting some charges with that, firearms offences, as well as some theft charges. That investigation is still ongoing, but it's nice that we got all the items back.”

Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
