The following is the RCMP report to September 15, 2025.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 12 traffic violations

-  7 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 27 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 24 crimes against property 

-  4 other criminal code

-  5 crimes against person

-  0 traffic accidents

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

 

September 1, 2025

Police responded to a call for assistance at the Boissevain Port of Entry. A female was arrested and charged on the strength of an outstanding warrant. She was later released on an appearance notice to attend court.

Police received a report of theft of gas in Boissevain. Police contacted the registered owner who returned to pay.

Police responded to a call for assistance in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton for an injured bicyclist. A male was transported to the hospital and police departed.

 

September 2, 2025

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe and the complainant was updated.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. Police were able to locate and speak with the person and the matter was concluded.

September 3, 2025

Police received a report of driving while disqualified in Deloraine. Police followed up with the complainant for additional information however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The complainant had purchased an item through Facebook marketplace, partially paid for it but it was never delivered. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

September 4, 2025

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle at Manhattan Beach. Police located the vehicle however it was not reported stolen therefor police departed. Police followed up a few days later and the vehicle was gone. The matter was concluded.

Police received a report of driving while disqualified in Deloraine. Police completed extensive patrols of the area but the person was gone on arrival.

Police received a report of a possible theft of vehicle in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. Police were able to locate a previous file stating the vehicle was towed as it was parked on the road and was blocking traffic. Police updated the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of theft in Deloraine. The complainant was reporting for information purposes. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call for an unwanted person at a business in Goodlands. Police spoke with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a breach of peace in Ninette. Police attended and separated the parties for the night. No charges were laid and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call for a theft of vehicle in Baldur. Police were able to locate the vehicle with the driver inside. A female was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Belmont. The male had been involved in a fatal vehicle collision earlier in the week. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a theft of vehicle in Baldur. The vehicle was later located abandoned in a neighboring community.

 

September 5, 2025

Police received a report of a theft in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received another report of a theft of vehicle in Killarney. The vehicle was located in a neighboring detachment area where a male had been arrested. 

Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The complainant reports receiving phone calls stating they were under investigation. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a breach of peace in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant and it was determined the situation was not a police matter. Police provided options for additional resources and the matter was concluded.

 

September 6, 2025

Police received a report of theft in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant who did not want any charges laid, just wanted their property returned.

Police received a report of a break and enter in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police attended and spoke with the parties involved and determined the matter was unfounded.

 

September 7, 2025

Police responded to a call for an alarm in Deloraine. Police met with the property rep on arrival and determined police were not required.

 

September 8, 2025

Police responded to a call under the family law act in Deloraine. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Belmont. Police followed up with the complainant however the matter was unfounded.

Police received a report for assistance to an animal call in Killarney.

Police received a report of theft in the RM of Prairie Lakes. The complainant was not wanting to pursue charges but wanted their items returned. Police spoke with the parties involved, property was returned and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Deloraine. The caller ended the call without providing additional information. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Killarney. Police attended and spoke with the parties involved. No threats were made and the parties were separated for the evening. The matter was unfounded.

 

September 9, 2025

Police received a report of a vehicle theft in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of fraud in Waskada. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of fraud in Ninette. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a 911 call under the fire prevention act in the RM of Grassland. An abandoned home had caught fire. Fire and EMS had attended and determined police were no longer required.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Deloraine. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.

Police responded to a call under the child, youth and family services act in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

 

September 10, 2025

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Belmont. Police patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Police received a report of a theft of 2 vehicles in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call under the fire prevention act in the RM of Argyle. A semi tractor was on fire. The fire department was on scene and there were no injuries so police departed.

Police received a report of a possible break and enter in Baldur. Police attended and determined the matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a breach of peace in Boissevain. Police spoke with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.

 

September 11, 2025

Police received a report of a theft of vehicle in Killarney. The vehicle was located in a neighboring detachment area. There was insufficient evidence to proceed at this time.

Police received a report of theft in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

September 12, 2025

Police received a report of harassing communications in Hartney. The matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report for a parking offence in Killarney. Police attended and spoke to the parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call for a breach of peace in Deloraine. Police attended however no disturbance was noted therefor police departed.

 

September 13, 2025

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police responded and spoke to the complainant however the complainant did not want to press charges therefor the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. It was a delayed report, and the complainant was reporting for information purposes only.

Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Ninette. Police spoke with both parties involved. There was insufficient evidence to proceed with any charges.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Hartney. The complainant was reporting for information purposes. Police provided additional information for options moving forward and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. Police attended however the people were gone on arrival.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Killarney.

 

September 14, 2025

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. Police patrolled the area however the person was gone on arrival.

Police received a report of disobeying a court order in the RM of Prairie Lakes. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Ninette.

It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian Antifraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment

Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE (204) 523-7255 or 911.  The administration line may not be checked until the following day or possibly the Monday following a weekend.  Members may be in another community or on the road. 

DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE IF YOU REQUIRE IMMEDIATE POLICE ASSISTANCE, YOU MUST DIAL 204-523-7255 (Killarney), 204-534-7261 (Boissevain), 204-747-2575 (Deloraine) OR 911 TO HAVE A POLICE OFFICER RESPOND TO YOU.  This will dispatch an officer without dispatching ambulance and fire unless required.
