Corey Cederwall

MARCH 15, 1972 – FEBRUARY 4, 2022

Corey Edward Cederwall March 15, 1972 - February 04, 2022

It is with tremendous sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Corey on Friday, February 4, 2022.

Corey was predeceased by his father Barry Cederwall, his grandparents Ed and Gladys Cederwall, Stephen (Micky) and Mary Rapinda, as well as his uncle Mel Rapinda.

Corey is survived by his son Donovan Neufeld-Cederwall, his mother Jane Cederwall, his sister Amber (Mike) and nephews Jacob and Tyler, his Uncle Rappie “Unk” Rapinda, Auntie Beryl and Uncle Archie Nachuk, Auntie Shelley and Uncle Perry Heatherington and cousins Jeremy (Beth-Ann) and Samantha and families, Auntie Angie and Uncle Donnie Kinger and cousins Mitchel Kinger (Lindsay) and Josh Kinger (Lindsay) and their families; Dan Rapinda and family, Jeff Rapinda and family, as well as Carrie and A.J. Johnson and family as well as many Cederwall cousins too numerous to mention. He is also survived by his special friend Wyntar Fontaine along with her children; Brendyn and Jaden.

Corey attended North Ward School as well as Beaver Brae Secondary School. He worked in the family business of Ed’s Landscaping and Cederwall Custom Paving for many years as a machine operator, asphalt operator etc until it’s retirement in the Spring of 2011. His current job was with Weyerhaeuser as an log handler.

Corey’s pride and joy, Donovan, was born in February of 2000. They spent many countless hours riding around in Corey’s truck learning about all the equipment Corey operated and watching trains. Corey also had special fur-baby “Cosmo” who was quite often also seen riding around with Corey.

Since the time Corey was little he gravitated to toy trucks with gears and moveable parts. He seemed to be a natural at running equipment and loved it. He appreciated the challenge of a new machine whether at work or a toy for home. Corey loved music since he was old enough to crawl over to the stereo and pull himself up and dance. His Grandpa Stephen played the drums in a band and if Corey had gotten to know him, he would surely have been a drummer. Corey created many beautiful memories with Wyntar and their children, camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. As well as their family road trips to Winnipeg for shopping and swimming. Corey made many friends over his almost 50 years; many who have reached out to the family to share a story and a laugh or two. He was known for his sense of humor and pranks but also for his kindness and helpfulness, he will be missed by all who knew him.

“There are two dates on every tombstone. There’s a birth date and there is a date of death, and every human being is guaranteed those two dates. But that little dash that lies between those two numbers is what defines our lives. So make your dash count. Live --- really live.”

A celebration of Corey’s life will take place at a later date when the family looks forward to sharing more stories and laughs.
