The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings travelled down to Estevan to face the Bruins in the second half of a home and home Saturday night, looking to bounce back after a 4-0 loss to the Bruins Friday night. Kade Runke had other plans, though, as the Bruins forward scored four goal as Estevan skated to a 10-0 win over the Red Wings.

Runke opened the scoring in the first period, scoring at the 3:44 mark. Eric Houk then made it 2-0 Estevan with a goal at the 18:20 mark of the frame.

In the second period, the Bruins doubled their score in a matter of eight seconds, with Runke notching his second of the night at the 8:26 mark, and Damon Byers making it 4-0 at 8:34. Dayton Deics would put the puck in the net at the 15:30 mark, and a goal from Eric Pearce with 2:20 left on the clock made it 6-0 after 40 minutes.

Runke would score his hat trick goal at the 8:20 mark of the third period, and Kian Calder made it 8-0 when he scored with 5:02 remaining. Brandon Ambrozik made it 9-0 at the 16:31 mark, and Runke notched his fourth of the night with 2:36 remaining in the game.

The Bruins outshot the Red Wings 55-18 in the game.

Weyburn will now get set for a pair of road games this week, travelling to North Battleford. They take on the North Stars Tuesday and Wednesday night. You’ll be able to catch the action in both games on Red Wing Radio, BIG 106.
