Manitoba Christian band The Color has been nominated for another Juno Award this year.
"It's very exciting," says frontman Jordan Janzen. "We put a lot of time and energy into this album in a season where we really couldn't put our time and energy into a lot of other things."
The band was nominated in the Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album for the Junos with their newest album No Greater Love, announced Tuesday morning.
"We're really thankful for the recognition," says Janzen. "Awards are always an interesting thing, where, what does it mean? What is the purpose of it? Especially when you're doing Christian music. For us, it speaks to the effort, time, and sacrifice we've put in over the years."
The Color was nominated for a Juno Award in 2018 and won for their album First Day of My Life.
"The last time we went out to Vancouver for the awards and it was such a great experience. They treat everybody so well. It's a big celebration of the arts and culture in Canada."
Janzen says the band is seriously considering flying out to Toronto in May for the awards show. The 2022 Juno Awards will take place on Sunday, May 15 with an in-person event.
The Color is hoping to be back on tour again soon as they have mostly been off for the past two years. There is no official announcement yet.
