Portage la Prairie RCMP has demanded a driver who crashed on Road 64 North to provide a blood sample.

Police say on April 2nd, at 8:26 p.m., they received a call about the collision and when they arrived, they saw the vehicle stuck between snow and trees.

The 37-year-old woman from Long Plain First Nation who was driving the car was freed by shoveling the snow from the driver's door. She was then taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The officers had reason to think she was impaired while driving, so they demanded a blood sample to be analyzed for the amount of alcohol. The sample has been sent to a lab for analysis.

Once the RCMP learn the results, they'll charge the driver accordingly.
