The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced who its new commissioner is. Kyle McIntyre will be taking the helm of the league from outgoing Commissioner Bill Chow.

McIntyre comes into the position with a unique perspective, having played four seasons in the SJHL with the Swift Current Broncos, Swift Current Indians and the Yorkton Terriers in the 80s. After his junior hockey career, he went to the University of Saskatchewan and got a degree in education. He would also get his Master's in educational administration and has recently retired after a 30-year career in education which included 20 years in senior leadership.

In addition to his career in education, McIntyre has served on the board of directors with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL as well as the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association. He has also been heavily involved with minor hockey and baseball in Swift Current.
