Tony a resident of Grassy Narrows, Ontario passed away at his residence on May 6, 2022 at the age of 55.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Paul and Mary Assin, Joseph and Lucy Kokokopenace, parents Colin and Jessie (Kokokopenace) Assin, sisters Lela Bernice Kokopenace, Sally and Ruby Assin, brother Ernie Assin, son Micheal Necanapenace, nieces Ruby and Sophia and nephews Leroy and Murphy.

He is survived by his partner Phyllis Hunter, children Shawn, James and Brittney Necanapenace and Heather Pahpasay, siblings Evelyn Kokokopenace, Clarence Assin, uncles Louie and Roy Assin, aunts Susan, Eveleen, Rita, Brenda, Clara and Annette, nieces and nephews Randy, Judy, Leaha, Julia, Jason and Alvin.  He will also be missed by his grandchildren Sophie, Shayla, Braylin, Ashton, Yazmin, Julien, Asianna, Marshall, Joseph, Colin, Naya F., Acen N., Aiyanna P., Neveah N., James Jr., Enzo N., Llayton, Clive, Maximus, Jacob, Raiden, Gerald, Honey, Whisper, Samora, Kirsten, Murphy, Sally, Natasha, Malik, Gabrielle, Liam, Janelle, Aveda, Alvin Jr., Jason, Clarice and Tanisha, and his cousins Sheila, Frazer, Beatrice, Baxton, Christina, JC, Cindy, Penny, Brenda, Sherry, Delbert, Waylon, Paul, Lucy, Jeff, Ryan, Rita, Stephanie, Beverly, Cyrena, Nolda, Elliot, Everett, Levi, Carla, Carolyn, Cayla and Joseph (JJ), Wendy, Bill Jr., Harrison, Travis, Janet and many more relatives too numerous to mention.

Tony loved being outdoors, he enjoyed swimming and boat rides in his younger years, hunting and fishing with his dad and family in his later years.

A wake service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Trapper’s Center, Grassy Narrows, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:00 am at Trapper’s Center with interment to follow.
