Two swimmers from the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins have been named to Team Saskatchewan for the 2022 Canada Games, Makaya Arnott and Damian Chartrand. 

Arnott started her swimming in September of 2014 with the Flying Fins Swim Quest program. She progressed through the pre-competitive programs and started swimming competitively in September of 2016. Along with swimming.  

Arnott also enjoys participating in high school sports at Peacock Collegiate. She has achieved high standards in her sports participation and academics with an average in the high 90s. 

Chartrand also started in the pre-competitive Swim Quest program joining in September of 2009. His first competitive swimming experience was in November of 2013.  

Chartrand has a passion for cars and motorcycles. He has a Honda Civic that he is currently doing some body work on and is excited to complete the project and get the car on the road. He also excels in his academics with an average in the 90s and also attends Peacock Collegiate. 

Both swimmers have excelled in the sport of swimming. Arnott qualified for Team Saskatchewan in one of her favourite events, the 50m freestyle with a time of 29.58 seconds Long Course at the ManSask Championships in Winnipeg in March of this year.  

Chartrand qualified with his time of 33.01 seconds in the 50m breaststroke Long Course also achieved at the 2022 ManSask Championships. 

The 2022 Canada Games will be held in Niagara, Ontario in August.
