It was a rough outing for the Weyburn Beavers Wednesday night in Moose Jaw.
The Beavers took the lead in the fifth inning, but then the Miller Express came rallying back and would go on to a 13-4 victory for their second win in as many days against Weyburn.
Moose Jaw put up one run in the first inning to take the lead and added a second run in the second inning.
Weyburn replied in the fourth, starting with a double by Koby Kropf. This was followed up by a single from Patryk Hernandez to move Kropf to third, and then a sacrifice fly by Blaine French put the Beavers on the board as Kropf crossed home plate.
In the fifth inning, Will Baker, who go on base after being hit by a pitch, stole second base and was then cashed in on a Nolan Machibroda single. Machibroda would steal second himself, and Kropf brought him home with a single, putting Weyburn up 3-2.
Then, Moose Jaw took over. The Miller express scored four runs in their half of the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead. They added four more in the sixth inning, one in th seventh and two in the eighth to make it 13-3.
In the ninth inning, the Beavers would get one more run when Travis Moore crossed the plate on an error by the Moose Jaw shortstop, making it a 13-4 final.
The Beavers will be back in action Thursday as they head to Regina to take on the Red Sox.
