Teen breaks into school and causes significant damage with cultural medicine and theft of eagle feather

A Break and Enter in Dakota Plains First Nation was reported to Portage la Prairie RCMP in the community’s school. The incident occurred on Friday, June 24th.
The suspect caused significant damage to the school as well as property inside the school. The suspect also destroyed the traditional medicine from one office and stole the Eagle Feather. Officers were provided information that led to the arrest of 19-year-old Jordan Smoke of Dakota Plains First Nation.
Smoke faces charges of:
- Break and Entering,
- Mischief,
- Theft Under $5000.00
…as well as other charges from a previous file that day.
Smoke was remanded into custody and appeared in court on June 27th, in Portage la Prairie.
