Jenny Shewaybick
April 26, 1977 – July 3, 2022
Jenny Shewaybick, a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away suddenly on July 3, 2022 at her residence.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Agnes and Bill Fraser Sr., her father Thomas Henry, her late adopted mother Ida Shewaybick, her son Kiethan Shewaybick, her brother Chad McDonald, her step-brother Alex Muckle. She was also predeceased by her great grandparents James Bigblood and Harriet McDonald, her aunts Grace Sanderson, Dorothy Henry, Josephine Mandamin, Nancy McDonald, Doris Hunter, Vicky Taylor, Sally McDonald, uncles John and Barney Henry and Fredrick McDonald, cousins Justin, Terry, Emily, Christopher, Kelvin, Joe and Angela Fraser, Percy Henry, Sharon Hunter, Harriet Scott, Rusty Hunter, Bonnie Hawes, Christopher McDonald, Janes Scott, Krystle Scott, Leroy McDonald-Scott and Duran McDonald, as well as numerous aunties, uncle and cousins from Webequie First Nation.
She is survived by her mother Gail McDonald, sister Greta (Albert John) McDonald, brothers Aaron McDonald (Shelley Land), Dan Shewaybick, Stanley (Rebecca) Shewaybick Jr., Melvin Shewaybick, sons San Steven Chickra Jr. and Fredrick Shewaybick, daughter Harriet Shewaybick, aunties Rose McDonald-Scott, Violet (Edward) Machimity, Caroline Henry (Roger), Rita Carpenter, Tina Henry, Edith Duck (Ivan), uncles Dan McDonald, Jim McDonald (Gaye), Ronnie McDonald, Charles McDonald (Mary Jane), Billy Henry Jr. (Phyllis ) and Albert Henry (Karen). She will also be missed by nieces and nephews Roxanne Scott, Shelby, Alisha and DeAngelo Land, Cassandra, Shania and Delora Shewaybick, as well as many other family members too numerous to mention.
Jenny was an extremely happy, beautiful, caring, fun-loving person, who was always smiling and full of hugs and handshakes for anyone she met. She was welcomed in to her Webequie family at the age of 5 and was reunited with her mother Gale when she was 11, she moved back with her children to her home community of Wabaseemoong First Nation at the age of 18 where she was excited to introduce her family, as well as meet all of the family relatives. Jenny loved her children and often took them to cultural workshops, camping and fishing, community events, parks and of course for the special treats at the store following a busy day. She also loved to cook, hang out with friends and family, she was extremely family orientated and travelled around many Northern Ontario Communities.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 Syndicate Avenue S., Thunder Bay, Ontario from 12:00-1:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. A wake service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2002 at Whitedog School Gymnasium beginning at 1:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 beginning at 10:00 am with interment to follow in Whitedog.
