Linda Lunny (Nee Kerr)
25/02/51 to 07/06/22

With her husband John, sister Jean and niece Gillian by her side Linda passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 71.

She leaves to mourn her passing is her husband of 45 years, John, daughter Amanda, sisters Jean Baxter and Elaine Kozar.  Also her in-laws, Pat Lunny, Terry and Carol Lunny, Jim and Carol Lunny, Ron and Liz Lunny and Albert Magnum.

She was predeceased  by her parents Hugh and Erba Kerr, sisters Lois Kerr and Cookie Kerr, sisters in-law, Margaret Krolyk and Maureen Polischuck. brothers in law David Kozar, Warner Baxter and Alan Krolyk.

Linda was born in Fort Frances and moved to Kenora with her family at an early age.  She loved Kenora , golfing with friends at Beauty Bay and life at the cottage on Lunny’s Island where she enjoyed fishing, swimming, gardening and mostly entertaining friends and family on the deck. She was famous for the way she cooked fish. Her and John spent sixteen wonderful winters at the Pine to Palm Park in Weslaco Texas where they made many new friends who the keep in touch with year round.

Linda graduated from Beaver Brave High School in Kenora and McMaster University in Hamilton with a Degree in Social Work and a minor in Sports.  She started her career in Social Work with the Community and Social Services in Kenora and later transferred to The Kenora District Services Board which she helped set up. She retired from the KDSB but still maintained friendships with many of her fellow workers who along with her clients she enjoyed working with.                                                                                                                  

At Linda’s request there will be no service. A private celebration of her life will be held on the Island at a later date.  

In honour of Linda a donation to one’s charity of choice would be appreciated.
