The City of Kenora has announced that they have hired a new Director of Finance and City Treasurer.

The City of Kenora worked with an independent recruitment firm to find a new Director of Finance and Treasurer, as a result, the City has selected Ryan Marsh, Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) to take on the job.

Marsh comes from the City of Winnipeg and has over twenty years of experience in public administration as well as fifteen years of financial leadership in a municipal setting.

As Director of Finance, Marsh will be responsible for the financial well-being of the City of Kenora through effective planning, administration, systems management, investing, and reporting as well as carrying out the statutory duties of the City Treasurer in accordance with the Municipal Act.

Marsh may be from Winnipeg but his family has deep roots in Kenora considering it a year-round home away from home for many years.

“I look forward to joining the City of Kenora as a member of the senior leadership team, supporting Administration and Council to provide a high quality of life for residents” stated Ryan Marsh

Chief Administrative Officer Kyle Attanasio said “Ryan brings a wealth of municipal experience as a demonstrated proactive change leader that fosters a team environment. He has an innovative approach to financial management with creative strategies to meet the changing demands of a municipality.”

“Ryan’s experience, combined with his proactive approach will ensure the City’s finances remain closely safeguarded for years to come. We are thrilled to have Ryan join our team here in Kenora.”

The current Director of Finance, Charlotte Edie, is set to retire in early 2023 after twenty-plus years of experience with the City. Marsh will begin with the City on August 8, to allow for a transitionary period.
