The Kenora Rowing Club and Garrow Park will be host to the 117th annual North West International Rowing Association’s Championship Regatta this weekend. Members from across Canada and the US are getting together for two days full of events, with an awards banquet set for Saturday night.
The Edmonton Elks look to halt the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers' perfect start to the CFL season tonight at Commonwealth Stadium. The Bombers, the two-time defending Grey Cup champions, are 6-and-0 to start the season. The host Elks are 2-and-4.

And Calgary Flames Fans are in shambles. Star forward Matthew Tkachuk has informed the team he is not interested in signing with the team when he hits restricted free agency status next summer. This comes after star winger Johnny Gaudreau signed in Columbus last week.
Tkachuk was selected sixth overall in the 2016 draft by the Flames. The 24-year-old scored 42 goals and 62 assists for 104 points in the 2021-2022 season, with 10 points in 12 playoff games.
He's rumoured to want to head to St. Louis where his dad played and now works as an executive scout, Ottawa where his brother is captain, Dallas, Florida, Vegas, Nashville or New Jersey, where his cousin is the General Manager.
