The LWDH Diagnostic Imaging Department is even closer to getting a new Digital Mobile X-ray Machine following a very successful golf tournament last weekend.
The 2nd Annual Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation Par 3 Charity Challenge was a huge hit! 152 golfers took to the green at the Kenora Golf and Country Club on July 21, raising over $162,000 in support of new equipment for the Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH).
According to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation (LWDHF), the funds raised by the tournament will be used to purchase a new portable X-ray machine for the Diagnostic Imaging Department which will provide significant advantages to patients and practitioners alike.
“The mobile X-ray machine at the hospital is a vital piece of equipment as it allows medical staff to take images at the patient’s bedside and better support immobile patients. The first portable digital unit was purchased in 2004 and with the expansion of Surgical Services, the demand for portable X-ray imaging has increased and there is a critical need for another, newer unit,” explained a Charge Technologist at the LWDH.
LWDHF would like to thank their over 50 sponsors for their generosity. Special thanks were given to Bill Dingwall and the Dingwall Group who contributed over $1 million dollars in prizes.
LWDHF gave credit and heartfelt thanks to the tournament organizers and volunteers for their “tireless efforts, dedication, enthusiasm and support.”
