It's day 2 of the Kenora bass international. Sitting in first place after day one are last year's champions, Ian Waterer and Motei Demers. Oliver and Jason Gibbins sit at second, while Ben and Jim Gustafson are third. Weigh-ins for day 2 will go at 4 p.m. this afternoon.

In Kenora Slo pitch, Northern Harbour defeated River View Thursday night 34-8. Bobs Burgers beat CUPE 22-8, Kenora DJ services beat the Neniska Crushers 20-9 and KTown Kafe downed the CarStar Renegades 25-18.

The 4-and-2 Calgary Stampeders are set to take on the 1-and-6 Ottawa Redblacks on the road tonight. Calgary enters the matchup having lost two in a row to the undefeated Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who beat the Montreal Alouettes 35-20 last night.

The Toronto Blue Jays will take on the Minnesota Twins for the second of its four-game series tonight. Toronto earned a 9-3 win over Minnesota yesterday. Newly-acquired Whit Merrifield had two hits in his Blue Jays debut.

The Calgary Flames and recently acquired forward Jonathan Huberdeau have agreed to an 84 million-dollar, eight-year contract extension.

The 29-year-old Huberdeau came to Calgary from the Florida Panthers with defenceman MacKenzie Weegar, forward Cole Schwindt and a conditional 2025 first-round pick last month for star forward Matthew Tkachuk.

Huberdeau scored 115 points in 80 games for the Panthers last season, tied for second in the league with now former Flame Johnny Gaudreau. Tkachuk, meanwhile, posted 104 points in 82 games.
