In the early morning on July 28th, Edward (Ed) William Marshalok peacefully passed away at Pinecrest joining his beloved wife, Clara Marshalok.

Ed was born in Kenora on July 6th, 1938, to the proud parents of George and Katherine Marshalok.  He got to celebrate his 84th birthday with his daughter Heather Reid.

He leaves to mourn his daughter Heather, son-in-law Clint Reid and grandsons, Brett and Josh, his god-daughter/niece Debra Hannah (Marshalok), niece Barbara Laurin (Marshalok), nephew Christopher Marshalok, his in-laws George and Jane Edison as well as several other family members all of whom he adored and loved.

Ed grew up in Norman with his two brothers John and Frank. His love for fishing always found him at the Norman Dam.  Ed also took on a passion for photography where he loved to embrace the wilderness wherever he was that included beautiful pictures of eagles and different types of birds.

Ed started his career at the Kenora paper mill.  Then he met the love of his life Clara Edison, and they started their life together on August 26th, 1967, and a year later their daughter Heather was born.  They decided to move their family to Surrey, BC in 1973 where he worked for 32 years as an auto-body technician at Pete Docksteader Collison.

While living in BC Ed and his family loved to go on nature walks and watch planes take off at Richmond airport.  They all loved to take drives to explore different places, sites and sceneries.

Ed and Clara decided to move back to Kenora in 2006 to be closer to Heather and her family.  Ed then started fishing again with his brother-in-law George in Dryden while Clara and Jane would get a chance to “catch-up” and go shopping.

After Clara passed away in December 2018, Ed moved into Pinecrest where he lived out his remaining years.  The family of Ed would like to thank the office staff and Unit 1 for the exceptional care during his stay there in room 128.

At Ed’s request no service will be held and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pinecrest Home for the Aged.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brownfuneralhomekenora.com for the Marshalok family.
