The two anglers posted 57.18 lbs of bass over the three-day tournament, edging out last year’s winners Ian Waterer and Motei Demers of Selkirk with 54.61 lbs. Kenora’s Jamie Bruce and Bryan Gustafson placed third with 53.24 lbs.
Oliver and Jason are now taking home $20,000 and the championship trophy. Weigh-ins took place at the Whitecap Pavilion in Kenora on Sunday.

Toronto left-hander Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound today as the Blue Jays open a three-game series in Baltimore against the Orioles. Kikuchi allowed two runs over four innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. Toronto sits two games ahead of Tampa for the top wild card in the American League.
Today’s the final day of tune-ups for teams taking part in the World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton. Action in the 10-country tournament gets underway Tuesday at Rogers Place. Canada, in Pool A of the round-robin with Latvia, Finland, Slovakia and Czechia, will play Latvia on Wednesday. It will be the first time since 1988 that all games will be held at one venue with fans in attendance.
