The Weyburn Police Service responded to 66 calls for service last week, resulting in 13 charges. Four of the charges were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, and four under the Traffic Safety Act.

On Monday, an officer on patrol noticed a heavily intoxicated man lying on a grassy area in public. He was taken home and turned over to the care of a sober adult. There were no charges laid.

On Tuesday, officers were called to remove an unwanted person from a residential building. Police say the individual complied and left the building, but returned and was lingering outside on the property. Officers spoke to the individual and gave them a ride to a different location.

Officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Wednesday, in which a reported erratic driver lost control and struck a bridge railing. Police say there were no injuries, but the driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for speeding.

Later that day, police received a report of what the caller described as the sound of gunshots. Officers responded but found no suspicious vehicles or people, and there was no property damage.

A man was arrested for being in violation of his release order on Thursday. He was held in custody to appear in court.

A homeowner reported having alcohol stolen from a fridge in their garage on Friday. They advised nothing else was stolen or damaged, but found a small bag of cocaine that the culprit likely dropped during the heist. The bag was turned over to the police, and the matter is still under investigation.

A man was arrested on Saturday after a traffic stop. He is facing several charges including failing to comply with a probation order, possessing break-in tools, and possessing a weapon dangerous to the public. He was also found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest relating to other criminal code matters. He was held in custody for his appearance in court.

Anyone with information regarding any of these matters can contact the Weyburn Police Service at 306-848-3250.
