Fred Curwain
May 31, 1946 - August 6, 2022

Fred passed away peacefully in his home in his favourite chair.

He will be truly missed by his sister Cathie Hoekstra and husband Fokke, nephew Dustin Hoekstra and wife Leah, niece Katie Hoekstra and great nieces Brooklyn and Sadie and great nephew Brayden. His ever caring Kenora family Janice Higgins-Edwards (late husband Rick), Jennifer Schott and husband Doug and daughters Skye and Starr.

Fred grew up in Winnipeg and attended the University of Winnipeg graduating in “cards”.

In his early twenties Fred moved to Keewatin, and worked at the Kenora Inn Hotel in Kenora.  He later moved on to work at the Dominion Store, and during that time he met and became good friends with many of his co-workers.

Fred loved sports and cheered on the Bombers and Jets every game or cursed at them!  He also loved bowling especially the “out of town” tournaments, many will understand what this means!  He also enjoyed fishing and entered the Bass tournament several times, even winning a few trophies.

Fred spent most of his life on Coney Island, walking over the footbridge in the late fall and driving over the ice in the winter to get home.

Fred will be missed, but will always be remembered as the kind gentle soul that he was.

Rest In Peace big brother ❤️
