Immanuel Fellowship Church is inviting everybody to the premiere of its sixth movie, The Serpent, which touches on themes of the Devil's deception and wickedness on humanity.
"This movie is titled, The Serpent and it's basically revealing the deceptions that are going on in the world," says Pastor Sunday Akin Olukoju of Immanuel Fellowship Church, he is also the writer of the movie. "It captures the reality of what has happened, even here in Winnipeg. This message is for people to come out and watch it and listen to it to know how to deal with the deception that is going on around the world today."
Emmanuel Osagie, the Director of the movie, recalls that he got very immersed in the process of creating the movie and working with the cast members.
"It was a beautiful thing, understanding the script, immersing myself as every character in the script, understanding every line, every emotion, and portraying that to the cast who were patient enough to understand where I was coming from. Sometimes my emotions could be high, my emotions could be low, but they were with me, worked with me, and stopped with me."
Osagie claims that it is the script, talent, divine inspiration and understanding on set that allows the movie to portray the deception of the serpent.

Most of the cast are regular church members at Immanuel Fellowship Church.
"The majority of the cast are from our own local church, in which we have our drama ministry, we have the children's drama team, we have the young adult and we have the adult team," says Ebenezer Fatimehin, Production Coordinator. "We have a relationship with CDMAC, the Christian Drama Ministers Association of Canada, in which we have drama ministers in other churches and have the opportunity of inviting them to fill some roles in the production."
Vera Keyede, a cast member, says that during filmmaking, she was too busy to really even give any thought to the serpent as a role in the movie and in the Bible. She thought about how the serpent appeared in Genesis and Revelation.
"This movie is talking about what the serpent is doing to humanity, the wickedness of the serpent has not ceased from the time of creation to this time, and we don't realize it because we don't actually see physical serpents running after us. The things they do in deception, trying to make us do things that are not the will of God, just like my role in the movie. The serpent is trying to bite my knee and by the grace of God, I was able to crush the head of the serpent."
The Serpent will have a free premiere to anyone who is interested in joining Immanuel Fellowship Church for the event at 479 St. Mary's Road. The red carpet entrance will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7:00 p.m.. There will be free snacks and drinks for all visitors.
The movie will be available on Immanuel Fellowship Drama Ministry's YouTube channel.
