After more than a decade, Paul Harland is retiring as Station Manager for CFRY, Mix 96, Country 93 and PortageOnline. Today is his last day in the position.

Harland started in sales, serving six years in that role before moving into the Station Manager position in February of 2012.

"I was lucky enough to be in the old building on Saskatchewan Avenue for a few years and then we made the move over to River Road and we were in there for a few years," says Harland. "One of the biggest highlights would be the renovation of the building we're in now and getting that all organized and having it the way it is now. I think it's been really good for our centre here in Portage and the station, and having the staff all on one floor, easy to access, and it looks pretty good."

Harland says there have been many changes and challenges over the years, but the experience has been positive. He says it all comes down to the relationships he has made during his time with Golden West Broadcasting.

"There's so many great people in our community and I've had the privilege to work with many of them," says Harland. "That'll be a big part that I miss, but everybody has their time. And I guess my time is now."

Although you won't see him at the radio station, expect to see him at the rink -- Harland will continue his role as assistant coach with the Portage Terriers as the team prepares to host the Centennial Cup next year. He says he is looking forward to spending more time with his family.

Travis Roberts will be moving into the Station Manager position.
