Adam Illman has been chosen to lead the Dryden detachment of the OPP following the departure of their acting chief.

Illman has been promoted to the rank of Inspector and has been named as the Dryden OPP’s Detachment Commander.

Illman, formerly of the Kenora OPP and a seconder with the Treaty Three Police Service, has over 25 years of policing experience in northwestern Ontario, including time in Grassy Narrows, Wabaseemoong, Sioux Lookout, Pikangikum and with the Lac Seul Police Service.

The OPP says Illman is passionate about supporting members in achieving their professional and personal best, and looks forward to building relationships with a shared vision for collaborative safety and well-being in Dryden, Machin, Ignace, the Ojibway Nation of Saugeen and the area.

Officers with the Dryden OPP confirm that Chief of Police Ed Chwastyk, who had been serving as the Dryden OPP’s Chief of Police after the amalgamation with the Dryden Police Service early this year, has since accepted a different posting and position within the OPP.
