The RCMP is sharing tragic news of three fatal collisions in Manitoba yesterday, with one of the incidents happening near Portage.
According to the police report, the collision happened at 9:50 pm. Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 1, located one kilometre east of the Assiniboine River Bridge.
Officers believe a pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 1 when it entered the ditch and rolled. The 32-year-old man from Winnipeg, who was not wearing his seatbelt and was the driver, was ejected and pronounced deceased on the scene.
Police note that the same day saw two other fatalities on Manitoba roadways, with the incidents occurring in Dauphin and Steinbach.
The RCMP says they are investigating all three cases along with their Forensic Collision Reconstructionists team.
