The students of Red Deer Polytechnic are returning for the 2022-2023 school year. Programs will be offered in-person, online, or in a blended format this year.
This term the post-secondary school will be introducing new programs.
These programs include:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- Therapeutic Massage Therapy Diploma
- Paralegal Certificate
- Indigenous Care Aide micro-credential
In the winter 2023 term more programs will be added including:
- Machine Learning Analyst Diploma
- Computer Programming Diploma
- Life and Employment Skills for Independence Certificate
“We are very excited to welcome learners into our new and existing programs, as we begin a new academic year,” says Kylie Thomas, Vice President Academic and Provost. “As a vibrant polytechnic institution, our program diversity demonstrates our institution’s ability to meet the needs of our students, industry and Alberta communities.”
6,300 students are anticipated to attend the school full-time or part-time this year. International student growth has increased to 500 international students. Seven per cent of RDP credit learners self-identify as Indigenous which is about 300 students.
Red Deer Polytechnic has launched their new brand with a new logo sculpture that was installed on campus in August. With the new brand, RDP athletes will be showcasing an updated crown logo on their uniforms. Red Deer Polytechnic will also see more than 170 student-athletes this year.
