The Canadian Mental Health Association is holding a Sam's Wear Art Contest in memory of Sam Bush and in honour of Suicide Awareness Month.
Sam Bush was a Kenora resident who passed away by suicide in June of 2019 at the age of 21. Sam loved camping, fishing, hunting and was a large part in Kenora's skateboard community. Sam is also remembered for his heartwarming generosity throughout his short life.
Sam's Wear has been available for purchase with proceeds going towards CMHA - and now they would like to add to it.
CMHA is inviting all artists to submit their art work for a chance to have their art work featured on Sam's Wear clothing.
Deadline to submit your logo is September 30. Please fill out the contest form HERE and enter your submission to sdias@cmhak.on.ca.
Sam’s Wear Art Contest is looking for original artwork created solely by the artist. The winning entry will be selected based on what best represents Sam’s Wear. Consideration will be given to:
- Including a positive mental health message using hope, encouragement, love, and/or similar themes
- Incorporating elements of the Kenora area like the lake, forest, wildlife, skateboarding, local culture, etc.
- Ensuring your art has wide audience appeal
- Using a maximum of six different colours (for ease of printing)
Winning artwork will be chosen by a panel of judges based on their opinion of what best represents Sam’s Wear. The winner will receive a choice of two items of clothing that showcases their design.
