Men's slo-pitch in Kenora has come to an end as all three division champs were crowned last night. The Beauty Bay Cubs took down the D Smith A's in a tight battle winning 11-10.

Strong fielding and consistent pitching led the Moncrief diggers to a 12-6 win over Holmes Voodoo too claim the B-side championship last night in Kenora Men's slo-pitch. The team would like to thank their sponsors Alfi and Jo- Anne of Moncrief construction for their sponsorship.

And the C-Side winners saw the Legends win over the Cottage Time Beavers.

High School football is back. The Beaver Brae Broncos hosted Kildonan East from Winnipeg yesterday, but ultimately lost 37-8. Beaver Brae is now at 1-1 on the season and will travel to Dryden to take on the Eagles next Friday.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders welcome the Edmonton Elks tonight in Regina. The 6-and-7 Riders are looking to sweep the three-game season series between the two clubs. A loss would eliminate Edmonton from the C-F-L playoffs. The Elks have just three wins in 13 games this season and are winless in nine against West Division rivals.

The Toronto Blue Jays host the Baltimore Orioles today to start a three-game series at Rogers Centre. The Jays are coming off a 3-2 series win over the Tampa Bay Rays, but lost 11-0 yesterday in the finale. Toronto currently holds the second American League wild-card spot, but sitting just a half-game up on the Rays.

The Winnipeg Jets' jerseys will look different this year. 

The team has announced they've ripped away the 'C' from now ex-captain Blake Wheeler, who has been serving in the position since 2016 after Andrew Ladd was traded. Head Coach Rick Bowness says no one will wear the C to begin the season. 

And the Jets have adopted a new Canada Life patch, as NHL teams start incorporating advertising campaigns ahead of the 2022-2023 season. It's a small red patch in the upper right chest area. 

The Jets’ season kicks off with pre-season games on the 27th, 1st and 5th before their home opener on October 14th vs the New York Rangers.
