This afternoon, Rocky View Foundation held an event to share the new name of their new 92 suite senior living facility.
The facility will now be known as Abrio Place.
Abrio Health, which is sadly no longer in business, has made large financial contributions to help with the construction of the project, because of that, the Rocky View Foundation has now named the project after them in honour of their contributions.
Myles Hamilton, who was one of the Board Members for Abrio Health talked about how other members of Abrio Health (Cam Clark, Stan Grad, Don Bell and the Hamilton family) were very committed to improving the health care facilities in Airdrie, and this project is one of them.
At today’s event, Abrio Health made another significant contribution, donating $100,000 dollars.
“The intention was to help with the renovation and the conversion from what was a hotel to a housing facility for those people in Airdrie that needed it.”
Carol Borschneck, the Chief Administrative Officer for Rocky View Foundation mentioned up next for the project is to see 30 seniors move in later this fall while construction is still underway.
At the event, the Rocky View Foundation had a few rooms ready to go to show what they will look like, including a handicap-accessible room and a regular living suite for a couple.
The project will see 92 suites with 60 rooms being subsidized.
