Challenges over the past couple of years brought on by the pandemic forced the Boundary Trails Health Centre (BTHC) Foundation to create new initiatives and to reach out and connect with new people.
The Foundation held its annual meeting earlier this week at Boundary Trails Health Centre.
BTHC Foundation Executive Director, Shannon Samatte-Folkett, notes one highlight of this last year is how the staff has been a lot more involved, and a lot more supportive of the foundation.
"With small little initiatives, like the project called 'What Matters to You' where they nominated each other. Yes, we give a little gift card, but we put them out there on social media. We want the community to also celebrate these people. And I've seen a boost of that morale...The Staff 50/50 also engages staff for the Foundation...it's really growing, and it's exciting. They know more about what we do, and what we do back for them, and I'm really proud of that."
Folkett said their 50/50 last winter, and the Donation Conversation, combined really helped spread who they are in the community, and really amp up their presence.
"I think we have a lot more people involved that have never been involved with the foundation before, in donating or just in talking about it," said BTHC Foundation Chair Ben Friesen.
The 2021-2022 Donation Conversation raised $199,000 for the BTHC Foundation.
