Gloria Paypompee "Mishkwe Binesiik Ikwe" Strong Thunder Bird Women at age 71, loving mother of 7 passed away in the early hours of September 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. 

Born in Kenora, May 18, 1951 and lived majority of her life in Thunder Bay, ON. Gloria is survived by siblings Loraine, Mervin, Richard, Joe, Liza, Birdie Alex and foster mother Marylin White. Children Lisa, Richard Jr,(Carlene), Michelle (Jamie), Jeffrey (Dina), and Sarah(Yannick).  Kokum to Summer, Nicky, Jonathan, Dylan, Caitlin, Meghan, Nathan, Kristian, Kaidyn, Ethan, Lauryn,Jayden, Brian and Madison. Great grandchildren Cyntaisha, Brooke, Natalie, Annabella, Cashton, Dominick, Lavana, Helena and Brielle.  Many nephews and nieces that loved her dearly. 

She was predeceased by parents Jack Medicine and Marie Paypompee(Kelly), siblings Agnes, Billy, Lorna, Eddy, Angel and Donald children Kevin and Jonathan. 

Funeral Arrangements will be taking place in Whitefish Bay First Nation, Wake starting Friday September 23, 2022 and Traditional Ceremony mid-morning Saturday September 24, 2022 at Peshigoneb Community Centre.  

We all would like to extend our gratitude & appreciation to the following organizations ONWA, Naotkamegwanning First Nation, Elder Francis Kavanaugh and all of those who assisted with the Traditional Ceremony, Metis Nation of Ontario, Graces Place, UNFC, CNIB, VON, Dilico, Beendigen, Anishnawbe Mushkik Aboriginal Health, TBRHC Cancer Care, All who had helped and supported Gloria throughout the past few years.
