The Investing in Women's Futures Program will benefit greatly after the Ontario government announced a $6.9 million investment to expand and enhance the program over the next three years.

The program, which offers resources and training opportunities to help women develop in-demand skills for jobs, is being expanded to up to 10 new centers and further funding is being provided to the 23 centres currently offering the program. Women's Place Kenora is among the 23 and relies on funds from the government to operate the resource centre.

“We recognize the important role that community-based organizations play in improving access to employment supports for women, like Women’s Place Kenora,” said Greg Rickford, Member of Provincial Parliament for Kenora – Rainy River.

“That’s why our government committed an additional $6.9 million to expand the Investing in Women’s Futures program, which will lead to good-paying jobs in our communities. I encourage eligible organizations to participate in the call for applications.”

The new service delivery sites will be selected through a call for applications, which is now open to eligible organizations until Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
