It was a big weekend for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs, who picked up two wins against the Lakers in Fort Frances.
The Dogs’ won Friday’s game 9-2 with Jordan Pfoh and Easton Debray each posting two goals, and Maier Ryland and Bryce Benfield each potted four assists. Eric Clark made 28 saves in the win.
On Saturday, Ryland and Benfield continued their hot streaks with 2 goals and 2 assists for Ryland and 1 goal and 2 assists for Benfield. Josh Greene had a goal and an assist, and Zac MacDonald made 19 saves in the win.
The Ice Dogs will visit Wisconsin on Friday, with puck drop shortly after 7 p.m.
Local high school sports teams had a great rest over the Thanksgiving weekend, and are ready to be back in action today as NorWOSSA court sports are a go today.
The T.A Saints are on the road today and will take on Ignace. The Falcons will look for redemption as they were swept by the Saints in Kenora last week.
