As part of the Indigenous Ingenuity: Timeless Inventions exhibit at the Lake of the Discovery Centre, a Fall Harvest Smoke & Feast will be offered to the community this weekend.
The free event will take place on Saturday, October 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Discovery Centre and will feature an array of smoking activities, which will be led by Ron P McDonald and Glen Mousseau. There will be smokers, firewood, moose meat and fish (walleye/white fish/sturgeon) all sourced and provided at the site.
Pre-smoking of meat and fish will be done to serve that day and a show-and-tell process will be set up to show how it is done.
Bannock will be provided by Theresa Jamieson “The Bannock Room” to be enjoyed the day of the event alongside the meat and fish.
