The Dryden GM Ice dogs are back home after a successful weekend in Wisconsin. They took both in their 2-game series on the road winning 3-2 on Friday and 4-3 Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Sioux Lookout Bombers didn't fare as well. They were taken down in both Friday and Saturday night's game in Thunder Bay. The Lumberjacks took it 4-3 on Friday and blanked the Bombers 5-0 Saturday.

The Kenora Under 18 AAA Thistles split their series this weekend at home. They welcomed the Pembina Valley Hawks in a 2-game series. Winnipeg won 7-3 on Saturday, but the Thistles came back last night to earn their second win of the season 3-2 with just 10 seconds left in overtime.

Head Coach Mark Crespeigne spoke about the comeback win.

“[We’re] a little short-staffed right now. Battling through some injuries, guys got injured through the game, but the guys stepped up. Everyone did their job, picked up the slack for each other, and just stayed on it. What a gritty, gritty effort from the guys there. Just so proud of this group.”

The Thistles will be on the road Wednesday when they take on the Eastman Selects.

There are nine games on the NHL schedule tonight with four Canadian teams in action.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, who have won 2 of their first 3, host the winless Arizona Coyotes. The Montreal Canadiens, with a win and two losses, will host the unbeaten Pittsburgh Penguins, while the unbeaten Winnipeg Jets will be in Dallas to face the Stars in their second game of the season. And the winless Vancouver Canucks will play their third road game of the young season against the 1-and-2 Capitals in Washington.
