Allison Helen Naomi McKay
July 3rd, 1921 - October 13, 2022
We share the peaceful passing of Allison Helen Naomi McKay, aged 101 on October 13th, 2022 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged.
Allison will be lovingly remembered as Mom to Diane Paroby, Grandma to Warren Paroby, Corey McKay and Nanny to Jory Paroby. She is survived by sister Betty Boutlier, sister-in-law Dorothy Crewe, brother-in-law Archie Mckay (Sybil) and daughter-in-law, Brenda McKay as well as nieces and nephews.
Allison was predeceased by her husband Lew McKay and son Frank McKay as well as brothers Frank Crewe, Fraser Crewe, Ross Crewe and sister Jean Boyd.
Allison was born on July 3rd, 1921 in North Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. She met Lewis McKay when he moved to the East Coast to play hockey for the North Sydney Monarchs, marrying in 1941. They returned to Lew’s hometown of Kenora Ontario where they lived until their passing.
Allison was a homemaker who took pride decorating their various homes. She enjoyed summers spent on McKay Island in Andrew Bay and subsequently cottaging at Beauty Bay amongst the golfing community. She enjoyed travelling back to North Sydney every five years for family reunions.
Allison’s family will celebrate her life at a private gathering in the spring where she will be inurned.
The family is deeply grateful for the dedicated care Allison received at Pinecrest.
