With a population of about 360, the Town of Mossbank is looking to expand and grow.
A new subdivision is being developed in the southeast area of the town with about 23 lots available. The lot sizes vary. The smaller lots are 75 to 78 feet wide by 125 feet, while the larger lots are 83 feet wide by 125 feet.
“We've done the water, sewer and the power, and gas is going in shortly,” said Town of Mossbank CAO Chris Costley.
The lots are selling for about $25,000 each until 2023 when the town is expected to increase the price to $33,000.
Costley said the town had seen a number of upgrades in the past few years to help attract more people to Mossbank.
The recreation centre underwent upgrades in 2017 that included renovating the swimming pool and a couple of years ago the boards were replaced in the skating rink.
“We added a gym in I believe it was 2017. So, we have patrons that come from communities all around us to come to our gym just because it's really well done and very low price,” Costley said.
Meanwhile, Main Street in Mossbank has seen a number of improvements as well. Local gardeners have volunteered their time to plant and maintain flowers on the boulevards. The town recently received approval to install new street lamps on two blocks of commercial properties.
