NorWOSSA 'AA' court sports have come to an end after a full day of playoffs yesterday.

The Beaver Brae Broncos Senior Girls' Basketball teams went on to the finals after taking down the Fort Frances Muskies but ultimately fell to the Dryden Eagles in the finals 59-20.

It was the same thing for the Sioux North Warriors' Junior Girls. They won in the semi-final but fell in the championship game to Fort 36-18.

And both the Warriors' senior and junior boys' volleyball teams dominated in the finals. The senior boys took down the Muskies 3 sets to 1, while the juniors defeated the Broncos in the same fashion – 3 sets to 1.

High School Hockey is officially underway. Both the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints girls' and boys' hockey teams played their first league games of the season last night.

The boys hosted the Red Lake Rams and won the home opener 2-1. Their 1st goal was by Liam Hopkins, with the 2nd goal from Sawyer Peters. The girls didn't fare so well, as the team travelled to Fort Frances to take on the Muskies but lost 1-0 in overtime.

Grey Cup week is officially underway in Regina. The Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers arrived in this year's host city last night and will hit the practice field today.

The Bombers are in pursuit of their third straight championship Sunday at Mosaic Stadium, while the Argos are looking for their first CFL title since 2017.

And the Ottawa Senators host the Buffalo Sabres in a battle of Atlantic Division bottom feeders tonight. The last-place Senators have won just two of their last 10 games, while the struggling Sabres have dropped six straight.

Elsewhere in the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers entertain the LA Kings and the Chicago Blackhawks are home to the St. Louis Blues.
