The Saskatchewan RCMP announced late Tuesday afternoon that Edgar Kakakaway Jr. was arrested without incident on Keeseekoose First Nation.
Police did not provide any court information at the time.
Kakakaway Jr. had already been charged with the following offences following the death of a 16-year-old male that occurred early Saturday morning on Keeseekoose First Nation.
- 2nd Degree Murder, Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code;
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Section 267(b) of the Criminal Code;
- Failing to comply with a condition of a release order, Section 145(5) of the Criminal Code.

Edgar Kakakaway Jr. is wanted by police for his involvement in the murder of a 16-year-old man from Cote First Nation on Keeseekoose First Nation during the early morning hours of Saturday, November 19, 2022. A warrant for his arrest has been issued.
Edgar Kakakaway Jr. is described as being approximately 6 feet (183 cm) tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds (95 kg). He has short black hair and brown eyes.
He is known to frequent the Keeseekoose First Nation, Cote First Nation, Kamsack, Canora and Yorkton areas in Saskatchewan.
Edgar Kakakaway Jr. is considered dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him, and call 911 or your local police immediately.
