NorWOSSA hockey is officially underway.

The Beaver Brae Broncos travelled to Sioux Lookout to take on the Warriors in both boys' and girls' hockey. The Sioux North boys team took the game 2-1 in a shootout. Cole Elliot scored the game-winner.

The Warrior girls also took the win, blanking the Broncos 1-0.

The Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints boys travelled to Fort Frances. The Muskies took the game 5-2. Meanwhile, the Saints girls hosted the Dryden Eagles where they took it 4-1.

The Canadian men's soccer team will play its first World Cup match in 36 years today in Qatar. Canada will face second-ranked Belgium. Coach John Herdman says star Alphonso Davies is ``fit'' and ``ready to go'' after dealing with a hamstring strain.

The Toronto Raptors are back in action tonight as they host the Brooklyn Nets. Toronto is looking to rebound after a stunning overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks last weekend.

It is a busy night in the NHL with all seven Canadian teams in action.

The Calgary Flames carry a two-game win streak into Pittsburgh and the Montreal Canadiens visit Columbus. The Toronto Maple Leafs are in New Jersey and Winnipeg travels to Minnesota.

The Edmonton Oilers' road swing continues against the New York Islanders and Ottawa is in Vegas. The Vancouver Canucks visit the Stanley Cup-champion Colorado Avalanche.
