Barry Maurice Alexander Gammie, a beloved husband of Ruth, passed away after a difficult battle with cancer, on Monday, November 21st, 2022, at the age of 72 years.
Barry was born in Nokomis, SK on July 25th, 1950, to Maurice and Faye Gammie, and was a younger brother to Douglas. Barry grew up with relatives Marion and Earnie Wilhelm and their children Donna, Carol and Ron, as well as Hazel and Roy Wentz and their children Reg and Larry.
While in high school Barry met the love of his life, Ruth Bowman. They were married for 52 years and had three children: Sheri, Quinn and Kate, and three grandchildren: Aidan, Ewan and Erik.
Barry devoted his life to the service of the Lord and was a pastor at a number of churches around the Moose Jaw area. In his free time, he loved to be outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and gardening. Barry had a natural aptitude for working with his hands and excelled at carpentry, plumbing and electrical, and could repair just about anything.
Barry will always be remembered for his devotion to his family and the Lord.
The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff of Pioneer Lodge and Moose Jaw Palliative Care Program for their wonderful care and support.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 28th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Atkins will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.
