Early on the morning of Nov. 23, our Mom, Grandmother, Gramma Z, Auntie, Sister-in-law and Friend, Doreen, with her eye on the stars, left to be with our Dad, John.

Doreen was born July 20, 1927 to Oscar and Rose Favreau. She was the little sister to Ray. She belonged to Notre Dame Catholic Church and attended Mount Carmel and Kenora District High School.

She and John were married on June 17th 1950 and soon became a busy Mother of nine. When she wasn't cooking,  Mom managed to find time to knit and crochet at record speed, while watching television. From toques to socks, and doilies to tablecloths. Many which were often donated to various raffles in the community. Her personalized Christmas stockings are legendary. Mom's last endeavor was to knit mitts for the Miracle Marathon.

Mom was a long-time member of the Kenora Legion Branch 12, an accomplished bowler and one of the luckiest Bingo players you'd ever meet. Many hours were spent doing jigsaw puzzles. There was always one on the table waiting for anyone who came to visit to put in a piece or two before leaving.

Mom's favorite thing was to sing, she started at a young age and was in the church choir and would be requested for many Weddings and Funerals. Christmas officially started when she would hit that note in O Holy Night at Midnight Mass.

Mom was predeceased by her husband John in 1999, her parents, her brother Ray and his wife Agnes, who was also her best friend. Her Me-mere, Alvina Gariepy, her mother-in-law Baba, Frances Zabloski and many cousins and in-laws, too many to name.

Mom leaves behind a very large family who will miss her dearly, her constant companion and housemate for 19 years, her cat Shadow.  Her children and their partners, Don (Ev), Rick (Deb), Sherri, Judy Krumbacher, Mike (Denise), Tom (Sue), Teresa Kuka (Randy), Cindy and Chris (Cathy).  Her grandchildren and their partners, Jon, Matt (Andrea), Landon (Chelsea); Ben (Melanie), Beth (Devin); Dan  (Stephanie), Erin; Emma (Geoff), Jessica (Alex), Alex (Paige), Adrien; Meghan (Zach), Jared (Amy); Ryan, Rae-Lyn, Adam (Cian); Ashton (Hayden), Jacob, Jonah (Mackayla).  Her great-grandchildren Blake(Mikayla), Sarah, Logan, Kendall, Adalynn, Brinley; Zachary, Zinnia, Griffin; Joryn, Maddi, Kendyll; Lenora; Jade, Jasmine, Brett, Paige, Zoe, Ronan; Kiandra, Da'Naiyah, Kairhys, Nazryn; Maribelle and Kaysin. Her last two, Griffin and Lenora arrived in Sept.  Mom will also be missed by many friends and relatives on both sides of the Zabloski and Favreau families.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her nine children.  Pallbearers will be her 19 grandchildren, those who can come will carry her with their hands, those who can't be here, with their hearts.

Prayers will also be held at Notre Dame Church on Monday November 28th at 7pm.  Her funeral service will be held at Notre Dame Church on Tuesday November 29th at 11am with Father Rudy Manaloto officiating, with interment to follow at Lake of the Woods Cemetery, Kenora, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of ones' choice.
