Laney 'Lynx' Smith
June 29, 1993 - October 14, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our nephew, dad, and brother Laney Smith, a member of Whitedog First Nation, Ontario passed away at Montfort Hospital in the ICU unit in Ottawa, Ontario on Friday, October 14, 2022.
He was predeceased by his parents Darnell Land and Loretta Smith. Grandparents Nazareth Sr., Agnes Land and Robert Boyd Sr., uncles Bradley, Bryden, Barret, Lawrence, Twin Boy Land, Gregory Boyd, Robert and Robert Jr. Smith (Robish), his aunties Arlene Land and Jane Smith.
He is survived by his children Rawson, Jaxon and Legacy Smith, grandmother Mable Smith, uncles Darryl, Nazareth Jr., and Conrad Land, Alex, Nicholas and Loney Smith, aunties Marsha, Claudette (lil Joe) and Fawn Land and Helen Smith, his brothers Dan, Harley and Gerald Smith, sisters Marlene and Joanna Smith.
He will also be missed by his nephews Mikey and Kendrick Smith, cousins Jonathan, Donovan and Chantal Muckle, Cassandra Seymour, Vanessa, Cheryl and Michelle Kejick, Berry, Jeanette, Leona and Wanda Boyd, Brent, Bryden Jr., Donald, Rheanna and Naomi Muckle, Raelynn and Leanna Wawence, Dakota Seymour, Shaylynn Land, Hope and Bryce Ningewance, Achilles, Tiernan and Kastiel Land, Cyrena, Marvin, Travor, Nathan and Chantel Smith, as well as numerous relatives too numerous to mention.
Laney enjoyed visiting family and friends in Whitedog, he embraced and loved spending time with his children whenever he could, he also loved listening to music, he also enjoyed fishing and joy riding with family and friends.
A wake service begin on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00am with burial to follow in Whitedog First Nation.
